Pics of Food Program!

Hello Everyone!
Yes! I am keeping my blog up and running. There's going to be plenty of news coming your way in the next few months. This is an easy way to keep in touch with everyone and to post pictures!

Prosper will be arriving here sometime in Late June, early July. He's just finishing up the publication of his new book "The Search for Greener Pastures" which highlights his experiences with racism in Britain, the U.S and China. Not to mention, a great deal of information about Ghana and the UN. It's a wonderful read and I can't wait until it hits the market!

I was just sitting here on this Long Weekend Monday realizing how much I miss Africa and I realized I never posted any pictures of the Food Program at the Liberian Refugee Camp. A wonderful lady in the Fort donated $1,200 so I could set up a food program each Saturday afternoon for the SMART KIDS to enjoy.

Our first few meals (which believe it or not, I helped cook!)were traditional Liberian meals of rice and stew and jollof. Jollof is a rice meal cooked with small chunks of meat and carrots. You also mix in tomato sauce to give it flavor and color.

I'm so proud of these kids! They obtain incredible marks, they all aspire to change our world, and that's all with only one small meal a day!

Little Angels! And simply because of their birth right, they are being forced to suffer a life of hunger and disease. And that's in a country of exile, away from their beautiful country. As the kids told me often, "We've never even seen Liberia. We want to go home."

Peace,
Heather
